  • What is Engica’s main business?
    Engica provide Enterprise Safety, Asset and Maintenance Management solutions to major company’s worldwide in the form of high quality software and related services.
  • When did the business start?
    Engica started back in 1981, now a mature and stable business.
  • Does the company offer worldwide supply?
    Engica conduct and maintain client projects from direct operations in North America, Europe and Asia and via our network of accredited partners to provide world class installations worldwide.

PRODUCT

  • What are the names of the main systems?
    All Engica packages are prefixed with Q4 and the main systems are referred to as SAFETY and POWER. They provide extensive functional features for engineering safety, permits, risk assessment, workflow, stock, procurement, finance and reporting. They are available as standalone or integrated modules along with a number of other supporting packages. Please refer to product list for details.
  • Is the software reliable?
    High standards of quality production, extensive pre-release testing and acceptance methods are applied prior to Q4 product releases to our customer. Supplied systems are provided on the basis of 24X7 use and provide resilient and high reliability usage.
  • Can the system be customised?
    Q4 range of products offer extensive facilities to configure and customize the system. Special attention has been given to configuration tools to provide customization and future upgrade installations. A few configuration facilities are shown adjacent. In addition the Q4 Toolkit API and component middleware can be purchased to create new interfaces and integration for secure and safe customization.

  • What platform topologies can the system run on?
    The system caters to scale from a single user to large scale multiple sites using the latest in web technology and object components. The following lists platform topologies.

  • Can the CMMS run on a hosted ASP?
    Yes, the Q4 systems can run on an ASP using providers such as UUNET or on your internal Intranet Servers.
  • What environment does the package need?
    The software is for use on IE browser and on the Windows Operating System and can be used standalone or on a network utilizing XP/ NT4/ 2000/ 98 using MS SQL Server and Oracle client/server databases.
  • Can the software run on a lower specification system?
    Yes, you could use the system on a LAN/WAN using Windows XP/ 2000/ NT/ 98 at the client end and using an MS Access database on a nominated server. This could facilitate up to 10 or so concurrent users. However we advise MS SQL or Oracle is used for high concurrency usage.

    The original DOS version was released in 1982
  • When were the products released on windows?
    The first release of windows based product was 1994.
  • When were the products released on client/server?
    The first release of the windows client/server based product was 1995.
  • When were the products released as N-Tier objects?
    The initial release of n-tier objects 2001.
  • When were the products released as Web Base Interfaces?
    The initial release of the CMMS web based system was 2003, we are now advancing and releasing applications as Smart Client web objects.

CONFIGURATION

  • How does the package handle multi-languages?
    The system is available in a number of languages including Chinese and Bulgarian. The products provide multi-language inline screen editing (with permission) offering users hot language switching.
  • Does the package need modification to meet business requirements?
    Generally not, however extensive built in configuration facilities are provided to cater for different types of business.
  • Can the package be modified to meet specific user requirements?
    Yes, much of the products current rich feature set has come about through this kind of collaboration. Wherever possible, we will “baseline” client features within the core products.
  • What happens if the system needs code customization?
    Where a customer must have very specific non-generic modifications the modifications can be done by the client or by Engica using the API toolkit making customization quicker, safer and updateable.

DEVELOPMENT

  • What are the major developments?
    The product range has been transformed to object model architecture with web and mobile user interfaces for Intranet or Internet ASP deployment.
  • Is there continuous development of the package?
    The software is being developed continuously to meet customer requirements and market needs.

UPGRADES

  • Are upgrades carried out by the supplier?
    Baseline upgrades do not require Engica to carry them out. Where required we provide upgrade software to automatically transfer data from the old version to the new version (if necessary), this can be completed by the system administrator.
  • What are the upgrade implications of custom configurations?
    In most cases a trained system administrator can utilise the configuration tools to transfer the settings into the new systems.
  • Are revised versions of the package automatically released to the user?
    No, customers are advised of the new versions being available, and they are delivered or transmitted on customer request.

SUPPORT

  • How are systems supported?
    Customers purchase an annual support contract that provides a range of support services including product upgrades, defect maintenance and user application assistance from our expert support personnel.
  • Is 24-hour support hour available?
    A premium support contract is available for around the clock support.
