A summary introduction to the total implementation package

The Total Implementation Approach to Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Implementation is a complete service to efficiently install and facilitate a CMMS start up. The package gets the CMMS up and running with a minimal impact on the Operator and his Facility. TIP is a means to gain maximum return from CMMS investment and achieve business objectives.

Throughout the implementation the project team, consultants and support personnel will guide assigned members of the Facility operation to ensure that they are ready to take Operatorship of the CMMS project as soon as implementation has been completed.

A high priority will be the assimilation of all data provided by plant suppliers in electronic format. The data entry team will take advantage of the Engica "spreadsheet data entry" templates and their associated import mechanism. Various techniques have been developed to assist the process and the team will use their experience and know-how to more quickly and efficiently build up the database.

Quality control methods will be applied to keep a watchful eye over the data entry process to ensure its quality.

Increasingly, viability of a power facility centers on the achievements of facility targets. It is clear that the ability to compete with others depends on making the right choice in the balance between operating cost and plant availability. It is these goals that will make a major difference to the plant lifetime and its competitive position in the future. TIP delivers the tool that will assist the Operator to achieve these goals through the CMMS. The package also ensures that a useable, professionally implemented and effective CMMS is delivered to the power facility on time.

The Proposal provides a dedicated team to complete the CMMS implementation thereby ensuring the highest benefits from an implementation carried out in the shortest timescale. The Services provided enable the Operator to have the implementation completed without having facility personnel distracted during this vital period. Establishing the dedicated team is the key to a successful implementation.

The TIP approach also puts in place the groundwork for making maximum use of the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) features of Q4 Power. RCM will enhance maintenance scheduling by identifying and classifying potential failure according to the consequences of failures.

The Proposal

This Proposal is for the Total Implementation of the Q4Power Computerized Maintenance Management System (“the System”). The package will ensure the power facility Operator obtains full benefit from an investment in Q4Power CMMS.

The Total Implementation Package (TIP) is a program that provides all the services needed to get the System up and running. The TIP enables the implementation to be completed without the burden of having to divert Facility personnel from their assigned duties. The TIP offers the following advantages compared to other options for a system implementation.
