 OIL & GAS 

Marathon Oil selected Engica to provide Q4 Permit as an electronic solution to manage safety requirements for its offshore UK North Sea assets. The software is used on 3 platforms and provides Marathon with a streamlined and efficient system for risk assessment, permit control and isolation management.

Kerr McGee Corporation and The China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) use Q4 software to manage maintenance, and safety for their Bohai Bay offshore development in China. They enjoy the benefits of a fully integrated system which also includes Q4 Power Engineering CMMS and Q4 Stock and Procurement, providing comprehensive management of the complete maintenance process in a single powerful unit. The software is dual language in English and Mandarin and hot key switch enabled to meet the needs of both Kerr McGee and CNOOC workers.

Qatargas operate one of the world’s largest onshore LNG plants, processing 8 millions tons of gas per annum from Qatar’s giant North Field. Majority owned by Qatar Petroleum with shareholders including Exxon Mobil, and TotalFinaElf, amongst others, Qatargas required a comprehensive safety management system as a key component in safe and efficient plant operation. Qatargas selected Engica to supply Q4 Safety for both the onshore LNG plant and its associated offshore production facilities due to the software’s ability to be adapted and configured to meet its detailed requirements.

 POWER 

Calpine’s Saltend Cogeneration Company Ltd, an independent power generation company located at the BP Amoco Chemicals site at Saltend, Hull is 100 per cent owned by Calpine, the US-based Power Company. Calpine’s unique approach to the project has signified a major step forward in customer-supplier relationships within the UK power industry.

"As a result of the successful implementation at Saltend, the system was extended to its sister station Dam Head Creek 775 MW CCGT plant in Kent, to form the core of its integrated business system". - Martin Sedgwick, Power Plant Manager.

Edison Mission Energy who coordinated the construction of the 1230MW Paiton power station, Indonesia, selected Q4 because they needed a system with a good track record in power station maintenance but with the flexibility to support any maintenance process or regime they may choose to operate in the future.

Len Coleman, Edison Mission's Director of Operations for Asia Pacific confirmed; 'We were impressed with Engica's specialist expertise in the power generation industry. BP Power operates Phu My 3, Vietnam’s largest power plant, as part of the Phu My industrial complex located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. BP selected the Q4 product suite to manage maintenance, stock and safety because it required a system with a good track record in power station maintenance whilst offering a totally integrated solution with safety and finance management.

GE unveiled its latest advanced gas turbine combined-cycle technology, known as the H System, at Baglan Bay power station, Wales in 2003. As the flagship site for the new state of the art technology it was decided that world class Safety & CMMS systems were required to match the high level of technical sophistication in the plant. Since implementing Q4 at Baglan Bay GE has installed the software at its Great Yarmouth and Sutton Bridge sites.

 ENERGY: TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION 

Eastern Energy, a member of the Texas Utilities group of companies, based in Melbourne, Australia control the sub-transmission and distribution of electricity in a wide area of Eastern Victoria, Australia.

 UTILITY: WATER 

Hyder Utilities' water business, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water selected Engica to provide and install the Q4 CMMS at fifty sites. The fast track project, including data transfer from the existing mainframe based system was completed for all fifty sites in less than three months

Ian Jones, Hyder's manager in charge of the project said, 'We chose Engica as a solution provider primarily because their software is so easy to use. Their professional approach to the project sealed the decision'.

 TRANSPORT 

London Underground's Victoria Line, as part of a corporate initiative to improve their maintenance strategy, chose the Q4 system as the platform to drive this forward. Q4 helped to prepare engineering staff for an increasingly commercial environment, where cost reduction and multi-skilling are key issues.

 DEFENCE 

The Royal Air Force selected Engica because Q4 RCM software was such a good fit with existing RAF maintenance procedures. However, more important to the project, was Engica's commitment to work in partnership to develop and fine-tune the system to ensure 100% compatibility with RAF aviation applications.

Squadron Leader Mike Pappa positively stated; 'The RAF now require all suppliers of aircraft maintenance schedules to install Q4 RCM software'

Nissan's award winning plant in Sunderland is the pride of UK and European automobile manufacturing. Their aim is to profitably build the highest quality cars in Europe and they are one of the most relied upon marques for delivering success. Q4 was chosen to provide Nissan with high quality downtime recording and analysis and the ability to monitor more closely their stores inventory.  FOOD & DRINK 

Britvic is amongst Europe's leading soft drink manufacturers. They are a major player in a market consuming nearly ten billion litres a year. Britvic chose Q4 as they needed the ability to track company machinery, equipment and stores inventory. A centralised system (across 5 production sites) was required to allow production to monitor maintenance, costs improving value for money. Cross-visibility and knowledge sharing were key business benefits, both being achieved within the first month of implementation benefits. Britvic required a system which took into account compatibility with their existing systems and adaptability to future IT development.

Northern Lighthouse Board is responsible for the superintendence and management of all lighthouses, buoys and beacons throughout Scotland and the adjacent seas and islands. The Northern Lighthouse Board has long been at the forefront of navigational technology and the Board has always prided itself on its efficiency and cost effectiveness. It aims is to operate a full network of high reliability, low maintenance aids to navigation.  FACILITY 

University of Ulster is the largest course provider in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The University has a major direct impact on the economy and community of Northern Ireland and has an annual turnover in excess £120 million. University of Ulster has implemented a centralised Q4 system across it's 4 Campus. Q4 Power is used within the University to process and analyse all work carried out by their Facilities Management department which includes the management of all Campus facilities and Halls of Residence. Q4 successfully allows the Facilities Management to cross- charge work across the faculties.
